Franklin Method Dance Class
Franklin Method for Dancers Class
Wednesdays 10:00 - 12:00
Beginning 13th of January.
This time it will run as a six week series focused on the pelvis.
You can always drop in, but you will benefit the most from taking all six.
The class starts off focusing on the body, noticing where you are and what your status quo is.
We''''ll begin to learn the pelvis'''' design, notice our habits, and compare the two. We''''ll take note of how the pelvis moves and how it feels when we move. We''''ll apply images, and focus on new ideas to make our movement feel better and more efficient. The class volleys back and forth between Franklin Method imagery and anatomy, and applying this new information to modern dance phrases. We always end class with a constructive rest, an improvisation based on the new knowledge of your body, or taking time to investigate existing choreography to see the changes your body.
The two hour class is designed for dancers and movers that want a deeper understanding of the design and function of their bodies, professionals who want to prolong their careers, and for people who want a movement practice based anatomy/science rather than a set of belief systems about movement.
Dance Pass drop in is $10 / $12 w/o
The whole session is $50 for the 6 weeks!
If you have any questions about the class feel free to call me at
330-219-2851
